For Negroni Week, Restaurants and bars across the country, and around the world, are raising their “Cocktails for a Cause” during the week of June 1-7. The Firebird Tavern, in particular, has chosen to support a local Detroit local charity. But, it can only succeed if we all drink.

“Cocktails for a Cause” launched in 2013 by Imbibe Magazine and Campari. The event encourages establishments to raise money for a charity of their choice, while serving their unique variations of the Negroni cocktail. Traveling as far as Hamburg, Germany and back around to San Francisco, California, the drink is being served at 2,699 bars, and counting.

Among the worldwide locations, several of the participants are in the Detroit: Gold Cash Gold, Republic, Seva, Aventura, Torino, Firebird Tavern, and more. A full list of participants can be found here.

At the Firebird Tavern, for every drink served, one dollar will be donated toward Project Scissor Gait Foundation (PSGF), a locally based charity in Detroit. The foundation raises money to support those who are affected by Eagle-Barrett Syndrome and Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita, working to spread awareness, aid those affected, as well as fund research programs. Firebird Tavern also features the organization for their Charitable Drink of the Week Program.

Next week, they will be serving up their Classic Negroni. The bar is in the heart of Greektown, located at 419 Monroe Ave., Detroit, Michigan.

Have a heart and “Raise a Cocktail for a Cause.”
