Calling all vibers and workaholics alike: Your Wednesdays just got a whole lot more groovy.
Beginning next Wednesday, June 17th, So Vague – the Detroit-based collective comprised of DJs Robert Perry, Roque Ybarra and BeatLoaf – will launch a bi-weekly dance party on the deck outside Detroit’s newest dance spot, Populux.
Take it from us – if you’re not familiar with these fellas yet, you’ve been missing out.
Prior to the So Vague era, the trio was spinning at the infamous LEAK (Lansing Electronic Artist Kollective) parties in Lansing alongside GRiZ and other notable DJs. The popular events drew crowds until the three friends finished school and relocated to the Detroit area where they have continued to perform independently.
However, after an extremely well received group performance at the All Good Records Movement after party a few weeks ago, they were inspired to bring the LEAK vibe to Detroit. Thus, So Vague is a re-imagined version of the highly successful events in the form of a midweek soirée right here in Detroit.
“We’re looking forward to bringing something new to Detroit while remembering the city’s historic contributions to the global electronic music community,” says Robert Perry.
From 8 p.m. until Midnight you can grab dinner and drinks as this smooth sailing trio takes you out of the office and onto the dance floor with a silky, blissed out mix of club and house tunes blended to creamy perfection.
This is shaping up to be a killer summertime bash, so plan on penning it in on your calendar every week until the cold fronts move back in.
