One of the things we get asked a lot about are jobs. This came across our desks today and figured we’d pass along.

AT&T will host an open house/walk-up testing event to recruit nearly 50 new premises technicians this Saturday, August 1 from 9 a.m.-noon. These are union positions that are responsible for installing AT&T U-verse in homes and businesses in Detroit, Southfield, Royal Oak, Wayne, Commerce Township and Roseville.

They’re looking for folks who have strong people skills and are offering positions to those who are interested in interacting with residential customers, small business customers and “multiple online systems to provide top-quality services.”

AT&T says they’re offering strong benefits, training programs, and those interested in this as a career should attend. Also, the hiring event offers on-site application, you need to bring a valid driver’s license and resume.

If you decide to go, applicants should plan for the process to take two to three hours. If you want to get a jump, apply online before the event at attlinks.com/MichiganTechnicians.

The event is in the AT&T offices in downtown Detroit at 444 Michigan Avenue.
