After months, weeks or days of preparation — depending on your procrastination habits — Halloween has finally arrived, and it’s time to show the motor city what you’ve got.

There’s an overwhelming amount of party action going on all weekend long in both Detroit and all around the Metro area, and while most of you have already locked in your plans for the annual celebration of weird, for those who haven’t, I’ve pulled together 5 Halloween events that I think will be worth your while, and won’t totally break the bank.

So slip into that temporary alter ego and step into another dimension, Detroit, because here comes your City 5 for Halloween Weekend.

Motor City Funk Night — Devil’s Night 2015 — Friday — Detroit

Funk Night has become something of a Detroit Tradition, and if you’ve never experienced it then this is going to be a fabulous introduction to all it has to offer.

Though it typically rotate locations from the Russell Industrial Center to The Majestic Theater, this edition of the famed evening goes down at the newly renovated Berts on Broadway in Detroit.

Suit up in your funkiest and freakiest Halloween gear and prepare yourself for a night of Heavy funk and soul music spun by popular DJs Head, Dez/Andres, and Frank Raines & Eastside, as well as a special live performance by Guilty Simpson.

Tickets to the event are just $5 and the party kicks off at 10 p.m. Make sure you get there a little early, though, because this popular event could certainly sell out.

Monster’s Ball Detroit 2015 — Friday — Detroit

If you’re looking for something a little bigger and more elaborate this year, then check out Monster’s Ball 2015 on Friday at the Fillmore.

You’ll join over 1,500 of Metro Detroit’s Halloween enthusiasts for a party that is sure to make Dracula spin in his grave.

The event features some great DJs, including Boji — David Boji from channel 955, DJ Chrome of 98.7 Amp Radio, and DJ A.Wolve out of Chicago, just to name a few.

In addition to all the great music, this event really goes all out to capture the Halloween spirit with a haunted graveyard, stage dancers and acrobats, illusionists, fortunetellers and more.

General admission tickets to the have sold out, but the price of VIP tickets have just dropped from $75 to $50, and this one seems like it will be worth every penny.

Trick or Treat For Grown-Ups at Batch Brewing Company — Friday and Saturday — Detroit

If you’re looking for a slightly more tamed but equally enjoyable Halloween experience this year, then on Friday and Saturday head over to Batch Brewery for their Trick or Treat for Grown-Ups event.

Starting at 7pm costume clad patrons can buy one beer and earn a very special trick-or-treat themed sud special, which features 8 different candy/Halloween themed beers on tap for your drinking pleasure.

This event is also kid friendly, and they’ll have plenty of actual candy for the youngins. And as the event page says, “nothing spells fun like parents with beer and kids with candy.”

HALLORATCHET VS. HALLOPALOOZA — Saturday — Detroit

With out a doubt this next one takes the cake for best named event of the year.

On Saturday BEATLOVAZ: I LOVE BEATS & ART and 777 Renegade Militia come together to curate the Hallorachet VS. Hallopalooza event at Bert’s on Broadway.

Organizers collaborated with over 2 dozen of the best musicians and visual artist in Metro Detroit to curate four unique parties all in one.

You’ll enjoy four floors of freaky fun jam packed with live bands and plenty of entertainment, including a beat battle in the Basement, open decks on the 1st Floor, live bands on the 2nd Floor, and amazing art visuals on the 3rd floor.

Costumes are not required but are strongly encouraged.

The party kicks off 8 p.m. and is 18 and up. If you’re 21 and up cover is free before 9 p.m., and if you’re under 21 it’s just $5 before 9 p.m.

After 9 p.m. cover jumps up to $10 if you have a costume and $20 for those without.

Freaky Deaky Halloween: Excision — Saturday — Detroit

This week’s list wraps up with the annual Freaky Deaky event at the Masonic Temple.

There’s really not much to say about this one — except to prepare yourself for madness.

This annual night of bass and beat driven debauchery at the city’s best music venue is always packed, and always an adventure.

This year you’ll enjoy tunes form Doctor P, Sound Remedy, and Attak.

BONUS – All Things Detroit – Sunday – Detroit
