Women’s Power Events To Raise Money for Gleaners

Two unique networking events in April will enable Metro Detroit women to make new connections, find inspiration, and support Gleaners Food Bank in its Million Meal Match campaign, which aims to raise one million meals for hungry kids between April 1 and 30.

The first event in the lineup – the 3rd annual Women’s Power Happy Hour – will take place on Thursday, April 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Businesswomen from the area will gather at the MGM Grand for hors d’oeuvres, a premium open bar, a silent auction, and networking opportunities.

A general ticket for the Women’s Power Happy Hour is $150. An intermediate ticket, for guests 35 and under, is $100. To purchase tickets for the Women’s Power Happy Hour, click here.

The second event during the Million Meal Match campaign is the 23rd annual Women’s Power Breakfast. Over 600 of Metro Detroit’s female business leaders will gather on Thursday, April 21 from 7 to 9 a.m. at Shed Three in Eastern Market. Attendees will have the opportunity to network and enjoy a light breakfast and an inspirational program.

“Solving hunger is an investment in our future, especially when it comes to kids,” said Gleaners President Gerry Brisson. “It’s so important that we meet our one million meal goal so we can continue to provide children with healthy food. Whether someone makes a matching gift to the campaign or attends one of the Women’s Power events, the community’s participation is essential to Gleaners reaching our goal.”

Donations made to the campaign are matched by PNC Bank, so every dollar donated generates six meals for hungry kids.

  • These are such fabulous events – the Happy Hour was a great addition, nothing like getting together with 300 of the greatest women in metro Detroit! and the Breakfast is simply a “can’t miss” event – a great morning to catch up with 600+ of your favorite friends and an inspiring program.
