Service Changes Coming To Detroit Buses, And There’s Still Time To Have Your Say

Mar 12, 2016 by Daily Detroit Staff

The Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) has a set of upcoming service changes coming April 23, 2016, but before then there will be three workshops and two public hearings to, according to city officials, get more input from residents.

“We implemented these new Community Input Workshops during our last schedule change and found it very helpful with service development,” says Dan Dirks, DDOT director in a statement. “Some of the decisions we made in January were heavily based on feedback that we received directly from riders during those meetings.”

The workshops and hearings will not only be for the April changes, but help shape planning efforts for future changes in September and beyond.

The events will be co-hosted by DDOT staff and District Managers from Mayor Duggan’s office.

Here are the dates and locations of the meetings and hearings:

Meeting #1 will be co-hosted by the Mayor’s District 5 Officers: Vince Keenan, District Manager and Erinn Harris, Deputy District Manager

Monday March 14, 2016 – 5:00pm – 6:30pm

Butzel Family – 7737 Kercheval, Detroit MI 48214

Meeting #2 will be co-hosted by the Mayor’s District 2 Office: Kim Tandy, District Manager and Sean Davis, Deputy District Manager

Tuesday, April 5, 2016 – 6:00pm – 7:30pm

Northwest Activities Center 18100 Meyers Rd., Detroit, MI 48235

Meeting #3 will be co-hosted by the Mayor’s District 6 Office: Rico Razo, District Manager and Ninfa Cancel, Deputy District Manager

Wednesday, April 13, 2016 – 6:00pm – 7:30pm

The Public Hearings will be held on the following dates:

Public Hearing #1

Tuesday, March 29, 2016 – 10:30am – 12:00pm

DDOT Administration Building – 1301 E. Warren Ave., Detroit, MI 48207

Public Hearing #2
