The City of Detroit wants you to be part of the change in Detroit, says a new video released by the city and voiced over by none other than Detroit Police Chief James Craig.

Highlighting a litany of local rising stars and places, the two and a half minute piece produced by Zara Creative is a mix of Detroit old and new. The piece has nearly 20,000 views on Facebook as of this writing.

The piece talks about how valuable the men and women who wear a police uniform and how “some of the absolute best that this nation has are Detroit’s finest.”

Some of the organizations that get a nod are Slow Roll, the St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center, Super Business Girl, The Empowerment Plan, Pewabic, Skidmore Studio, New Center Stamping, Neumann Smith Architecture, Shinola (of course),  Ronald McDonald House, The Kresge Foundation (that has been active in funding a lot of projects as well as the M1-Rail), Green Living Science, Gift Detroit, Midtown favorite Avalon Bread, and Arctaris, a debt and royalty-based fund that invests in businesses.

“We now have hope, we have hope that change is here, and it’s not stopping here. It will continue,” said the Chief in the spot.

The piece was produced by Troy-based Zara Creative, founded and headed up by former WDIV reporter and anchor Heather Zara.
