Regardless of failure of the recent Regional Transit Authority Millage, the Detroit Department of Transportation is forging ahead with their expansion plans.

Earlier this year we brought you the story of how they are in the middle of a major service expansion with the second phase coming in January.

In order to make that happen, they need bus drivers. One hundred of them, actually.

DDOT has partnered with Wayne County Community College District – Eastern Campus to hold a recruiting event this Thursday, November 10th from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. for people who are looking to get the job.

City officials encourage applicants to start the process online prior to the event by visiting www.detroitmi.gov/Detroit-Opportunities/Find-A-Job and apply for the “Transportation Equipment Operator” position (the fancy name for Bus Driver).

The Wayne County Community College District – Eastern Campus is at 5901 Conner, Detroit MI 48213.
