Saturday, November 19 is Local Comic Book Store Day around the country.

We thought we would give you a round up of the nine comic book stores in Metro Detroit that will be participating in the event.

Each store has a different plan for how they will be celebrating. There will be 28 items being released on Saturday. Not every store will get the same items, so if you’re looking for something specific I suggest checking out each store.

Some have the items they will be receiving listed. Also some items will be extremely limited.

Here’s just a sample of the items being released:

  • Exclusive hardcover of books 1 through 5 of Dr. Strange: The Oath
  • Hardcover edition of DC Universe Rebirth- The Deluxe Edition 
  • Archie Meets Ramones (limited quantity)
  • Lying Cat statue from the graphic novel Saga
  • The first book of Kim and Kim
  •  Lost In Space Animatter B9 Vinimate figure

Vault Of Midnight – Detroit

If you’re downtown head over to the Detroit location of Vault Of Midnight to check out all of the exclusive Local Comic Shop Day merch.

They will also be giving away graphic novels from Double Take Comics to every person who comes into the shop.

Will you be in Ann Arbor or Grand Rapids on Saturday? Don’t fret, there are Vault of Midnight locations in both of those cities as well.

Hours: Monday through Saturday 10:00 AM-10:00 PM and Sunday: 11:00 AM-8:00 PM

Detroit Comics – Ferndale

Saturday is the perfect time to visit Detroit Comics in Ferndale because they will be having sales all day. If you are in need of back issues they will be 50% off, action figures will be 20% off, and apparel will be 10% off.

Hours: Monday and Tuesday 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM , Wednesday 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Thursday – Saturday 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM,
Sunday 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Green Brain Comics – Dearborn

Green Brain has been a staple of the comic book community since 1985.

During Saturday’s event there will be a game demo for the game Marvel Munchkin. The demo will kick off at 12:00 PM and will go until 3:00 PM.

Hours: Monday, Thursday,Friday, Saturday 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM,
Tuesday 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Wednesday 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM,
Sunday 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Prime Time Comics and Cards – Lake Orion

If you’re in need of a comic book fix up in northern Oakland County, don’t fret I’ve got you covered. Prime Time Comics and Cards will be participating in LCSD this year.
Check out the Facebook page, because they have listed everything they will have on hand for Saturday. If you had your eye on the Archie Meets Ramones they will be doing a raffle for it because it is so limited.

Warp 9 Comics will have limited quantities of the LCSD merchandise, but they will also be offering 50% off back stock items.
