Planning a wedding can be extremely stressful, especially after the “oh my God I’m getting married” phase wears off.

Between trying to find the perfect location, dress, caterer, florist, officiant, and musicians it can get overwhelming.

That is where event planner Haley Lertola from Detroit Cultivated comes in. She has organized a wedding reception called un.Bride.led Reverie for engaged couples, families, and friends. They can come experience an evening filled with great food, drinks, music, dresses, anything else you could possibly need for your upcoming nuptials.

This is the second year that Lertola has done un.Bride.led. This year is even bigger than last year with over 30 vendors showcasing the work they do.

“Last year was incredible. We got a lot of feedback and that was the foundation for us to build on the event for this year,” said Lertola. “We were able to enhance it and cultivate more relationships with people in the city. We were able to make it even more of a resource this year.”

This year un.Bride.led will be held at Jam Handy on Thursday, May 18. Jam Handy is a pretty large venue, and Lertola plans on utilizing a lot of the space.

un.Bride.led isn’t your every day bridal expo where you just walk through and meet vendors. You are a guest at a wedding reception, so you get to experience every part of a reception.

The evening will start out with craft cocktails from Detroit City Distillery and a treat from VICECREAM.

Guests will then move on to a three course dinner prepared by Executive Chef Nick Rodgers from The Root Restaurant and Bar. The Royce Detroit will be in charge of the wine pairings during dinner.

Since this is a wedding reception there will be a floral installation from will be provided by pot and box.

Nicole New will be providing the musical entertainment while dinner is being served. She is an amazing singer, and if you are a regular reader of our City 5 you might recognize her name. I have highlighted her performances at The Buhl Bar in the past.

After dinner there will be a dessert reception filled with chocolates from bon bon bon, desserts from Sweet Heather Anne, and a special cocktail made by Our/Detroit and Wolf Moon Mixers.

In the last few hours of the event the guests will get a chance to get to know all of the vendors. The Experiential Dressing Lounge will showcase the current wedding trends. Everything from dresses, suits, invitations, calligraphers, hair, make up, photographers, videographers,  favors, wearable flowers, hand dyed ribbon, henna, and so much more. You can find a list of all of the vendors here.

Lertola also has a new un.BRIDE.led partnership, Forgotten Harvest. For each ticket purchased four meals will be donated to people who are in need.

Tickets for un.Bride.led are $60 if you are attending alone, $55 a piece for a couple, and $50 per person for a party of four.

Hours: 6:30 p.m until 10:30 p.m.

The Jam Handy is located at 2900 East Grand Boulevard in Detroit.
