La Dulce To Move From Downtown Royal Oak To Downtown Detroit

You are here: Home / City Of Detroit / La Dulce To Move From Downtown Royal Oak To Downtown Detroit

Jun 19, 2017 by Daily Detroit Staff

A popular downtown Royal Oak Restaurant is making moves to the city of Detroit.

La Dulce opened in downtown Royal Oak and made waves for their unique look. The place has been pretty popular, but moving to downtown Detroit was an opportunity owner Luis Negrete couldn’t pass up.

“We have absolutely loved our time in the Royal Oak community and will miss the neighborhood that embraced us as we built out footprint. We had an opportunity to be part of Detroit’s growing culinary scene that we couldn’t pass up — we’re so excited for our next step.” says owner Luis Negrete.

The new downtown Detroit space will be a whopping 7,000 square feet at the Crowne Plaza Detroit Riverfront (2 Washington Blvd.) starting today, Monday June 19.

After a brief reconstruction period, La Dulce will open their new location on Thursday, July 6.

La Dulce will be open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. The dining room will feature approximately 70 seats plus 30 seats at the bar. With the expanded space, look for big dining events, like suckling pig and shareable paella.

There also will be an open-air patio that the restaurant is saying will be ideal for cocktail hour and private events.

The Crowne Plaza has had a rough go when it comes to restaurants. The rooftop restaurant is now an event space, and the Jefferson House was where the new La Dulce is going. Hopefully the fortunes turn with this addition.

La Dulce’s hours will be Monday through Saturday 6:30 a.m. to midnight, and Sundays 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
