You are here: Home / Business / City Of Ferndale And Detroit’s BUILD Institute Team Up To Launch Open City Ferndale

Nov 29, 2017 by Shianne Nocerini

The BUILD Institute has been helping people take an idea and turn it into a business since the spring of 2012.

Over the years they have helped numerous people start businesses by giving them the tools they need to open and run a business. Additionally, Open City Detroit has been a popular concept over the last few years that now the BUILD Institute runs.

While the BUILD Institute has been based in Detroit, it is now expanding to Ferndale thanks to a year-long partnership with the City of Ferndale. This partnership will provide classes, training and resources for Ferndale businesses.

Open City Ferndale will take place at The Rust Belt Market and it will be the kick off event for for this partnership between BUILD and the City of Ferndale.

The event will feature a panel discussion, resource fair and a networking event for all Ferndale business owners and perspective business owners.

The panel will be moderated by the Founder of She Hive Ursula Adams. The panelists will be; Jessie James, Co-Founder of Drought Juice, Julianna Perry, Vice President of Business Development for With Third Bank, and Greg Doyle, Manager of Oakland County One Stop Shop Business Center.

The launch is on December 6 and is free to anyone who are interested in starting a business or maintaining their current business.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the panel discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The Rust Belt Market is located at 22801 Woodward Avenue Ferndale, Michigan 48220
