Happy Spring everyone!

I know I’m not the only person who was counting down the days until the Spring Equinox.

This weekend is filled with all sorts of fun events. I’m trying to figure out how I can go to most of them.

Let’s get on with the list.

Sprung with Bale Defoe & So Vague

Spring is here and the Whiskey Disco will be celebrating with performances from Bale Defoe and So Vague.

Come out on Friday night and listen to some awesome sets.

This event is 21 and over.

There is a $5 cover at the door.

When: Friday, March 23 from 10:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m.

Where: The Whiskey Disco 2 John R Detroit, Michigan 48226

Jesus Christ Superstar at the Senate Theater

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar has been getting a lot of attention lately. Mostly because of the live version they will be doing on April 1.

But if you’re like me, you have a soft spot for the original movie from 1973.

You’re in luck because the Senate Theater will be playing the original version this weekend.

Tickets are only $5 a person. This is a great deal.

When: Saturday, March 24 at 8:00 p.m.

Where: Senate Theater 6424 Michigan Avenue Detroit, Michigan  48210

All Things Detroit

It’s time to get your shoppin’ shoes on because All Things Detroit is this Sunday at Eastern Market.

I love going to All Things Detroit because I prefer to shop small. Plus it gives me a chance to meet small business owners.

Be sure to say hi to our friends at Little High Flyers and Motor City Creations.

Here’s the details you need to know. It will be held in Sheds 3, 4, and 5.

All Things Detroit has over 250 different vendors, so there is a lot to see. There is also a food truck rally so if you get hungry there are some choices.

General Admission is $5 per person and children under 6 are free.

It gets crazy busy, so if you don’t like crowds I suggest getting the Beat the Crowd tickets. Those are $15 per person. You get a tote bag with some coupons and early entrance. It’s worth the extra $10 bucks.

When: Sunday, March 25 from 9:30-4:00 p.m. General admission entrance starts at 11:00 a.m.

Where: Eastern Market 2934 Russell Street Detroit, Michigan 48207

If you follow the Nain Rouge on Instagram you might have noticed his activity has picked back up this week.

It’s time to drive that red devil back out of the city during the annual Marche du Nain Rouge, which happens to be this Sunday.

If you have never been to the Marche du Nain Rouge you are in for a real treat. We have a pretty solid guide about the Marche, so I suggest you read it for some tips.

When: The Marche kicks off at 12:00 p.m.

Where: Meet on the corner of Canfield and Second the parade will continue down to the Masonic Temple

17th Annual Greek Independence Parade

If you are still in the mood for a parade we’ve got another one for you.

This Sunday is also the 17th Annual Greek Independence Parade.

The parade will march through the streets of downtown from Campus Martius to JACK/Greektown Casino.

There are a few new things this year.

At 1 p.m. there will be photo opportunities for parade goers at the Atheneum Hotel. There will be a parade backdrop, balloon displays, and characters from the Big Head Corps from The Parade Company.

Also, dancers in traditional costume and members of the Evzones which is a ceremonial guard will entertain crowds.

When: The parade starts at 3:00 p.m. and there will be an after party in the streets of Greektown.

Where: The parade starts in Campus Martius and will travel down Monroe Street through Greektown.
