A visa denial has stymied plans for Windsor-based Bread Meats Bread.

The owners were planning on locating their sandwich shop in the Detroit Shipping Company.

A social media post says that owners were denied a visa, and so the project is off.

“It is with a heavy heart and a sad stomach that we announce Bread Meats Bread will not be joining our roster of restaurants. After a significant investment and a prolonged and dedicated effort to obtain their visa (they’re from Windsor), they were denied and have had to withdraw. We blame the Trump-Trudeau beef.”

Bread Meats Bread continues on with their Windsor location.

Here’s where you could come in. The owners of the Detroit Shipping Company are looking for a new vendor to fill the space.

If you want to be that guy or gal you can find out more information here.

The Detroit Shipping Company is located at 474 Peterboro in Detroit. A version of this story originally appeared in the Daily Detroit Podcast.
