Play episode

Drifter Coffee at 770 Woodward Heights in Ferndale was burglarized overnight Saturday.

A social media post says money from a cash drawer and an iPad were taken after a hole was punched through a wall that led to a locked closet.

The shop opened in early April to much local fanfare, and grew from a mobile coffee trailer into a brick and mortar location just east of Woodward and south of I-696.

The two story Drifter Coffee took a year to renovate.

It serves baked goods and also hosts a variety of events including Yoga and a book club.

The space is — let’s just face it — super cute.

They’re also open a bit later than some shops… 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. If you’d like to check them out, go here.
