# Bastone Brewery Shakes Up Their Menu, Partners With Butcher Focused On Michigan Farmers

Bastone, a Belgian-focused brewery in downtown Royal Oak is shaking up their menu, bringing together French and Belgian-inspired main entrees and small plates.

And to do it, they’re working with Farm Field Table, a butcher a quickly-expanding butcher in Ferndale that focuses on Michigan farmers (**[our story on them here](http://www.dailydetroit.com/2017/12/13/ferndales-locally-focused-farm-field-table-butcher-shop-expand-new-year/)**).

Some of the new main dinner options include:

- **Chicken Paillard:** all-natural chicken breast served with bibb salad, smoked blue cheese, cherry tomatoes, pickled onions and red wine vinaigrette
- **Cassoulet:** braised white beans, lamb neck, sausage, short rib and bacon served with garlicky veal sauce
- **“Farm Field Table” Burger:** Michigan ground beef with wagyu fat, white cheddar, bacon, caramelized onions and lettuce served on a warm challah roll; and more.

Small plates will include:

- **Grilled Marguez Sausage:** spicy Michigan lamb sausage and harissa served with cous cous salad, arugula and harissa aioli
- **Duck Frites:** crispy pomme frites fried in duck fat with your choice of aioli
- **House Made Pretzel:** served with a mustard stout cheddar dip.

“Quality is of the utmost importance to us, and we know the first step to getting quality ingredients is knowing where that food comes from,” said Executive Cef Cory Beattie. “We’re impressed by Farm Field Table’s commitment to working with local Michigan farmers and are pleased to know the meats we serve are hormone, steroid and antibiotic-free.”

Bastone shares a space with Jolly Pumpkin, another popular area brewery.
