There are plenty of lists of what to do on the big evening of New Year’s Eve, so this weekend’s City 5 we will be looking at what to do on Friday and Saturday only. I hope that you have a great New Year and we will see you on the flip side. ### **Friday Night Live: David Bowie Tribute** It is hard to believe that we are coming up on the two year anniversary of David Bowie’s death. I don’t know about you, but David Bowie’s music has been a soundtrack to my life. The Detroit Institute of Arts will be hosting a [David Bowie Tribute](https://www.dia.org/events/friday-night-live-david-bowie-tribute?ref=dailydetroit.com) during Friday Night Live in the Rivera Court. Come out to see Dylan Dunbar, Jennifer Westwood, Paul Randolph, Bobby East, The Brothers Groove and other special guests pay tribute to this cultural icon. Admission to the DIA is free for residents of Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Counties When: Friday, December 29, there will be two sets at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The Detroit Institute of Arts is located at 5200 Woodward Avenue Detroit, Michigan 48202 ### **Indoor Snowball Fights and Ice Fishing** Parents, are you in need of a place to take your kids so they can expel their energy? I don’t know about you, but my 3 year old is bouncing off the walls now that it is so cold outside. The [DNR Outdoor Adventure Center](http://www.michigan.gov/oac/0,5736,7-329-68731%5F72548-447972--,00.html?ref=dailydetroit.com) will be hosting indoor snowball fight and ice fishing on Saturday. Come out an experience some outdoor activities but without the extreme cold. There will even be prizes. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors over 62, $3 for children 2-12, and free for children under 2. When: Saturday, December 30\.
