# Detroit Co-working Space Makes List Of Top Spaces In America

Co-working is a relatively new phenomenon, but it’s been integral to many businesses getting off the ground, or being a place where solopreneurs (people who work for themselves) can get some work done without the distractions of home. It’s also, importantly, a place for connections and collaboration to help launch nascent businesses and take them to the next level.

Detroit’s own [Bamboo Detroit](http://www.bamboodetroit.com/?ref=dailydetroit.com) (which, disclosure, we’re a member of) was ranked as one of the top 100 co-working spaces in America (and the only Detroit co-working space on the list) by bookkeeping service Symmetry50.

“We are excited to be in the list and to see so many great entrepreneurial spaces,” said Amanda Lewan, co-founder of Bamboo and editor of [Michipreneur.com](http://www.michipreneur.com/?ref=dailydetroit.com). “The sharing economy is a trend here to stay, allowing for flexible space for today’s worker.”

The co-working space has four co-founders, two of whom are African-American and one female. Co-founder Dave Anderson [was recently honored by Crain’s Detroit Business for their “20 in their 20’s” section](http://www.crainsdetroit.com/article/20150528/AWARDS20/150519833/david-anderson-28?ref=dailydetroit.com).
