# Detroit Is A Top City For Vegan Dining In Nation, Says PETA

In a city known more for coneys than quinoa, it turns out according to PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) that [Detroit is one of the top 10 cities for vegan cuisine in 2016.](http://www.peta.org/features/top-ten-vegan-friendly-cities-2016/?ref=dailydetroit.com)

PETA makes numerous shoutouts to local area restaurants – some you’d expect like Detroit Vegan Soul and Seva – and others, maybe not.

[Brooklyn Street Local](http://www.brooklynstreetlocal.com/?ref=dailydetroit.com#!menu/clg4) has a vegan Reuben with house-made seitan and vegan poutine (a Canadian dish that’s typically made with French fries and cheese curds topped with a light brown gravy).
