# Justin Verlander And Kate Upton Are Engaged, Report Says

After three years of dating, 33 year old Detroit Tigers star pitcher and 23 year old model and actress Kate Upton are getting engaged [says E! Online](http://www.eonline.com/news/761495/kate-upton-is-engaged-to-justin-verlander-shows-off-huge-ring-at-2016-met-gala?ref=dailydetroit.com).

Per E! Online, the big question was popped right before the season started. Upton revealed the engagement on the red carpet at the annual MET Gala in New York City.

“I’m really excited, he asked me right before season started so we’ve been keeping it on the down low for quite a while,” she told E! News exclusively. “So I’m excited to finally be able to share it with the world!”

Is there a date set yet for what will probably be one of the most talked about weddings around Detroit for a long time?

For now, “we are enjoying the engagement period,” she told E!Online.

Kate Upton is from St. Joseph, Michigan.

Apparently, Verlander designed the engagement ring.
