It’s easy for companies to pay lip service when it comes to strengthening and enhancing their communities. It’s another thing entirely for them to actually commit to making a difference, especially where it counts.

For the third year in a row, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services will send more than 500 volunteers into the community to participate in a number of different service projects. This Week of Caring runs from Sept. 21-25, and it aims to strengthen Metro Detroit’s community in the areas of education, arts and culture, diversity and inclusion, and community enhancement.

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services volunteers will tackle projects by collaborating with several Detroit Community Partners, including:

The Week of Caring has a full schedule planned. Each day of the week brings new projects and partners together to make a lasting impression on Metro Detroit. Here are some highlights from the Week of Caring schedule:

On **Monday, Sept. 21**, volunteers will work with 8 Mile Boulevard Association to paint a mural at Detroit Vintage Coffee, a local coffee house that’s a unique neighborhood gathering spot. The new mural will use motifs from the mural on the remnants of the Birdwell Wall along 8 Mile.

**Tuesday, Sept. 22** will see volunteers finishing up the mural at Detroit Vintage Coffee. Other volunteers will get to work on Community Living Centers by replacing flooring and landscaping.

Volunteers put on their artists smocks again on **Wednesday, Sept. 23** to help with painting and organizing at Alternatives for Girls. They’ll also help put together hygiene kits and hold a resume workshop.

On **Thursday, Sept. 24**, volunteers will don hard hats to join the construction work on an existing Habitat for Humanity home. They’ll also work with Greening of Detroit in a garden or farm environment.

**Friday, Sept. 25** will round out the Week of Caring. Volunteers with Beyond Basics will read and work on painting projects with students. Other volunteers will work with Kids Against Hunger to package meals to be distributed to families in need.

Keep your eyes peeled Sept. 21-25\. You’ll probably see several of the Mercedes-Benz Financial Services volunteers engaged in their projects.
