Mitch Albom and S.A.Y. Detroit distributed checks totaling over one million dollars to 20 area charities on Thursday. The money comes from donations raised at Albom’s fourth annual S.A.Y. Detroit Radiothon last December.

Albom, who founded S.A.Y. Detroit in 2006, presented the checks to the benefiting charities in a ceremony with Dr. Chad Audi, President of the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries.
