Sadly, he’s taken. Personally, the only thing I know about my special day is the song I’m walking down the aisle to, and the song that will play during the first dance as husband and wife. The Inn At St. John used to be a seminary for Catholic priests to earn their degrees in theology. There are four ballrooms, a 27-hole golf course, two restaurants, gorgeous grounds, a AAA four diamond hotel and a very experienced wedding planning staff. The majestic Gothic-style design was inspired by the 13th century Melrose Abbey in Scotland. The sanctuary is as stunning as the grounds, which are situated next to beautiful Island Lake. If you are a Detroit history buff, this church might be the coolest place to get married. The sanctuary is gorgeous, with a giant organ that takes up an entire wall. Back when the church was located closer to the Detroit river, it was one of the Detroit stops on the Underground Railroad. This one is a little off the beaten path, nestled on the border of Corktown and Mexicantown, with a great view of the Ambassador Bridge. There is a large courtyard outside perfect for pictures and an outdoor reception, or you can take advantage of nearby Corktown to celebrate the big day.
