The holiday season will officially kick off in Detroit on Friday night at the Tree Lighting Ceremony.
But there’s more fun after that. For the next five weekends, adults will be able to go and enjoy special themes each weekend. The series is called “Winter Magic Weekends.”
Winter Magic will be held in a 10,000 square foot heated tent in Cadillac Square across the street from Campus Martius. So those who attend will have a perfect view of the 60 foot Norway Spruce.
Tickets are $20 per person if bought in advance ($25 at the door.) Each person will receive 4 sample drink tickets and a commemorative glass. There will also be live entertainment, food for purchase, a selfie station, and complimentary coat check.
These events are 21 and over, so get a babysitter if you need one.
Winter Magic hours will be 7:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

Saturday, November 19 – Very Vodka Wonderland
Vodka is the theme for the evening. Head down to Cadillac Square for a vodka ice luge, Polish vs. Russian vodka tasting, and Russian and Eastern European cuisine.
Friday, November 25 and Saturday, November 26 – Merry Mixology
The evening will be filled with twists on classic cocktails. If you love candy canes, chocolate, gingerbread and other seasonal favorites then this is the weekend for you to check out.
They will be featuring classic comfort dishes and holiday music. Check out the mixology and gingerbread house competitions.
Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3 – Southern Spirits
If you are a fan of bourbon and whiskey this is your weekend. Fill your belly with delicious BBQ and Soul Food.
Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10 – Feliz Navidad
It might be cold outside, but you can warm up with tequila and rum this weekend. There will be plenty of Latin American food for purchase, including tacos, tamales, and much more. Bring your dancing shoes, because there will be salsa dancing.
December 16 and 17 – Home For The Holidays Wine and Craft Beer Festival
This is the final weekend for Winter Magic. Wear your ugly sweaters as you partake in seasonal craft beers, cider and wine. There will be dancing throughout the evening.
