It’s time to get your party shoes on, because Detroit turns 316 years old on Monday, July 24. So, on Saturday, it’s time to party.

The Greektown Preservation Society and Jack Entertainment are co-hosting a party to celebrate Detroit’s Birthday.

There will be live acoustic music by Kenny Spears, strolling street performers, and the Detroiter Big Heads from The Parade Company.

Astoria Bakery will be giving away 316 Spirit of Detroit cupcakes to attendees of the party. What’s birthday party without cake? Am I right?

The party will take place on Monroe Avenue between Beaubien and St. Antoine Streets. This means that Monroe will be closed to vehicle traffic.

The party will be Saturday, July 22 from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
