Eastern Promises at The Schvitz

How about a nice long steam at the historic Schvitz before seeing a movie?

That’s exactly what The Schivtz has planned for Friday evening.

They will be showing the 2007 movie Eastern Promises which was directed by David Cronenberg. This thriller stars Viggo Mortensen and Naomi Watts.

There will be dinner and concessions available for purchase.

Tickets are $40 per person for a steam and a movie. Tickets are $10 if you only want to see the movie.

When: Friday, March 30. The sauna is open from 4:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. and the film starts at 7:00 p.m.

Back Alley Bikes Garage Sale

It still might be chilly out, but it is still Spring. This means it’s time to pull out your bike.

If you are in need of a new to you bike, then you should check out the Back Alley Bikes Garage Sale.

It will be held on Saturday in Cass Corridor Neighborhood Development Corps courtyard and community room.

Prices for the bikes range from $10 up to $150.

Easter Fun Fest 

Looking for a fun Easter event for the whole family? Look no further than the Easter Fun Fest 2018 at Historic Fort Wayne.

The free event is sponsored by the Detroit Parks and Recreation Department.

The theme for the day is “Peter Rabbit” and there will be events for all ages.

There will be a Youth-Adult Egg Hunt, the “Egg-Mazing Race!”, make and take crafts, face painting, prizes, and live animals.

There will also be an area for the smaller kids that will have tot-sized games and activities.

When: Saturday, March 31 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Detroit Gatsby Dark Faerie Tale Masquerade Ball 

Now here is an event for the adults in the room.

If you are looking for a fancy shindig then look no further than the Detroit Gatsby Dark Faerie Tale Masquerade Ball.

There is still time to pick up your tickets for the ball, and it is sure to be a good time. I hear there are some beautiful dresses at The Peacock Room and Liz Louize in Royal Oak.

During the event guests will also be part of a theatrical production where they can interact with characters from classic fairy tales.

The evening will also include a strolling dinner and drinks.

Proceeds from the event will go to the non-profit Activate Detroit Potential. They partner with for profit companies to provide skills training and employment and holistic support services for at risk women in Detroit.

Tickets are $130 or $250 if you want to spring for the VIP experience. You can purchase them here.

Wrestling Cabaret Supershow 

The Squared Circle Revue will be returning for its 10th year with this event.

There will be plenty of matches between the SCR Title Match and the Mark Pants Memorial Battle Royal. Not to mention there will be some other acts like the Adorably Amazing Acrobatic tandem of Jadey and Poppet and burlesque performer Roxi Dlite.

Tickets for this event are $20 for general admission and $30 for front row seats. You can purchase them here.
