Look, if you’re not out this weekend, you’re missing one of the best weekends we’ve written about so far this year. We normally like to keep it at five events, but this week we’re bringing you a few more.

Go out and enjoy the last few weeks of summer, because before you know it the leaves will be changing, everything will taste like pumpkin spice, and then winter will be upon us.

Detroit Bikes X New Belgium Celebration of Collaboration – Tangent Gallery/Hastings Street Ballroom

Come out to the Tangent Gallery/ Hastings Street Ballroom on Friday night from 7:00 PM until 12:00 AM to enjoy live music, beers, and food from The Twisted Mitten.

The bands and musicians are performing are Black Noi$e, Double Winter, James Linck,, Valley Hush, Stacyej, and Scott Groves.

One lucky concert goer will win a Detroit Bike Cruiser.

Warren Birthday Bash – Warren City Square

We know we have a dedicated cadre of suburban readers, so the Warren Birthday Bash x is a four day festival that starts Thursday, August 25 and goes until Sunday, August 28.

There will be tons of fun stuff to do for everyone in your family, like a carnival, petting zoo, Arsenal of Democracy Museum, live music, and a farmers market on Sunday morning.

Hours: Friday: 4:00 PM- 11:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 PM- 11:00 PM.

Mack Alive 25th Annual Parade, Rally, and Festival – Mack and East Grand Boulevard 

Growing up a block off of Mack on the east side means that there is a special place in my heart for that long thoroughfare. This Saturday the Mack Alive nonprofit organization will be having it’s annual festival. Mack Alive has been serving the community for 25 years.

The party starts with a parade that starts at 10:00 AM at St. Jean and Mack. The parade will continue down Mack and will end at East Grand Boulevard where the rest of the festivities will be held.

After the parade there will be live music, a poetry jam, free food, clowns, and face painters. The live music will begin at 12:00 PM.

Hours: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Fiesta del Rio – West Riverfront Park

We have another festival for you, Fiesta del Rio will be on Saturday, August 27 at West Riverfront Park. It is being held by Ideal Group, the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy and the Venegas Family.

If you’re in the mood for some really awesome Mexican food there will be a Taste of Southwest Detroit food court. If you love cars there will also be a low rider car show. Finally if you enjoy live music, they have a great line up of performers.

Admission is $5 per person and children under 5 are free.

The Fiesta del Rio starts at 11:00 AM and goes until 10:00 PM

Detroit Hustle Book Signing – Eastern Market

Come out to Detroit Mercantile to meet author Amy Haimerl. You can purchase her book Detroit Hustle: A Memoir of Life, Love, and Home and then have it signed.

While you’re at Detroit Mercantile take a look around, you might find something else that you absolutely need to bring home with you. The place is a candy store if your candy is Detroit-y things.

The signing will start at 11:00 AM- 2:00 PM

Dirtybird BBQ- Belle Isle

This is a two day bbq and music festival that will be held on Belle Isle. This is an 18+ event, so leave the little ones at home. Tickets can be purchased here, you can purchase one or two day passes. It’s going to have a ton of big-name headliners and some mean bbq plates to fuel your dancing.

One last thing, there will be no parking on the island for the Dirtybird, they will have a shuttle to take you across to Belle Isle. They have yet to give information about where to park, so check the Facebook event for additional information.

100th Annual Detroit Hydrofest – Detroit Riverfront

The Hydrofest is a three day event that starts on Friday and goes through Sunday. We already did a post on it, so you can find more information there.

Detroit Summerfest – Downtown

Downtown Detroit is going to be hopping this weekend. The three day festival has something for everyone to do. It’s fun for families, it will be great for a date night, it would also be great for a group of friends who want to go out. Head over to our post about Summerfest to find out more information.

Villages Biergarten- West Village

This weekend is the opening weekend of the Villages Biergarten! The biergarten will be open every Saturday from 11:00 AM- 11:00 PM and Sunday 1:00 PM-9:00 PM from now until October. A portion of the proceeds go towards Detroit area charities.
