The Detroit Dizzy Dames in Female Problems – Detroit

Lushes LaMoan and the Detroit Dizzy Dames will be performing this Friday night at the Tangent Gallery/Hastings Street Ballroom.

John Waters is a legend in the world of camp, so I can only imagine what has inspired these performers. I’ll go out on a limb and say it will be more than just Hairspray and Cry Baby songs.

Time is running out for you to hop across the border to learn about the history of Canadian Club and it’s important part of Prohibition.

Thomas McGee’s will be hosting a tour this Sunday that will take you to the heritage center and then to a few historic Canadian pubs.

The tour will leave from Thomas McGee’s Sporting House Whiskey Bar in Eastern Market at 10:30 a.m. (The pub will be open at 8:00 for early morning Irish Coffees and Bloody Mary’s.)

Just a reminder to bring your passports or enhanced ID for border crossing. Windsor might be our neighbor to the south, but it is still another country.

Tickets are $60 a person. Seats are limited so get your tickets quickly.
