The Detroit auto show is moving dates, and now we have a good idea as to when. Multiple media reports say that the show will move from January to June in 2020.

The move would take advantage of better summer weather and allow for more outdoor experiences, that would aim to better show off the vehicles and the city of Detroit.

The Detroit News reports that the event may no longer be named the North American International Auto Show, and there are variety of new names in the running.

Moving the show to June would make summer in Detroit very busy. It’s the same month as the Belle Isle Grand Prix and the city’s traditional international fireworks display with neighboring Windsor, Ontario. In a new twist, Ford is reportedly urging organizers to emulate the Goodwood Festival of Speed. That event includes a hill climb, supercar runs and a moving auto show.

An official announcement will come later this month.
