In today’s edition of minor but neat food scene updates, we spied that the much anticipated Shake Shack next to Campus Martius had their sign delivered today.

The new location of the national burger and milkshake chain is in the First National Building and the windows face Woodward Avenue. It will be the first in Michigan.

Shake Shack is an aggressively expanding brand with 100 locations (when the Detroit store was announced last year, it was just 84).

They mostly serve burgers, hot dogs, and frozen treats. Looking at their menus around the country, a Shackburger with cheese is going to run you about $5.50; a crispy chicken sandwich in the neighborhood of $6.50; and a frozen custard shake under $6 depending on the location.

Per their announcement in 2016, the Detroit location will “feature location-specific frozen custard concretes. Guests will be able to hang out on the patio overlooking the park and sip on a selection of hand-picked wine and local craft beer.”

As you can see in the picture above, there’s definitely room for a Woodward patio. Put that together with patios at Grand Trunk as well as down the way at Central Kitchen, and you’ll have yourself a little outdoor drinking excursion all on the same block (plus Roasting Plant, if you decide to have a coffee stop).

An exact date has not been released for the opening. But, as you can see with the peek through the window above, it’s definitely coming along.
