Looking for something fun to do this Friday night? Maybe you want to do some good while having a good time. If that sounds like you, then I have just the event for you.

The 3rd Annual Cass Community Services Empty Bowls Detroit will be on Friday, March 9. It will be held in Shed 5 inside Eastern Market from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

There will be live music from The Relics, A Man Named Hooper and Roll & Tumble.

Not to mention hot soup, bread, desserts, beer and wine from restaurants and organizations from around Detroit.

The list of participating restaurants and organizations is pretty impressive:

Amore Da Roma, Bacco, Bommaritos, Cafe Muse, Cass Catering, Cafe Cortina, Cafe Sugar, Central Kitchen, Crews Inn, Detroit Athletic Club, Devries, Eastern Market, Fishbones, Grey Ghost, Harry’s, Johnny Noodle King, Just Baked, La Macaroon, LaFeria Restaurant, Lumetta, Randy’s Sausage, Red Truck, Rosie’s Café,  Soup Sala, Selden Standard, Seva Detroit, Slow’s BBQ, Sugar Rush, Townhouse Detroit, Tubby’s, Variety Vending, Village Market, WaterMark Bar and Grille, and Vivio’s.

In addition to getting some great food each person will be able to take home a hand panted ceramic bowl.

Local celebrities from Detroit sports, media and culture will be serving soup to guests of the event.

Some of the Daily Detroit team will be dishing out bowls of hot soup between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

The services that Cass Community Services provide on a daily basis are essential to so many Detroit residents. In 2017 Cass served 700,000 meals and provided 150 low-income households with monthly food distributions.
