Sister Pie has entered the final stretch in its goal to open a complete bakery in Detroit’s West Village, and you can celebrate with them as they throw the hippest dance party fundraiser Detroit’s ever seen.

To count down to this awesome party, Sister Pie (which we’ve written about before) is giving supporters the opportunity to crowdfund its expansion on Indiegogo. The opportunity to support Sister Pie won’t last long. The campaign ends on February 7, so if you want to contribute, now’s the time to do it.

Sister Pie’s dreams of expansion started in July 2014, when they rented a former hair salon at 8066 Kercheval. However, in order for Sister Pie to move into the building, the space needs a thorough renovation and a kitchen build-out. Over the past five months, together with local architect and designer Laavu Studio and Sister Pie supporters, the business has managed to tackle much of the renovation process, but there’s still more to be done.

To help cover the estimated $160,000 costs associated with renovating their new store, Sister Pie has turned to Indiegogo, giving Detroiters a chance to support their endeavors. The business has an initial fundraising goal of $25,000 through the fixed funding option, so they have to meet that goal in order to keep any of the money they raise.

The dancebreak-a-thon will be held at local record shop Paramita Sound and starts Friday, Feb. 6 at 9pm and ends Saturday, Feb. 7 at 9pm. Tickets to the dancebreak-a-thon start at five dollars. In addition to helping Sister Pie transform their dream into a reality, supporters will be able to snag several fun rewards like t-shirts, cookies, or a pie making class.

Don’t miss this chance to support Sister Pie in its mission to continue serving Metro Detroit some of the tastiest pies available.
