We know our readers are always on the lookout for a good deal. Here’s something that got better this year and, if you like to explore our region, probably worth your time to sign up for.

The Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau is usually focused on attracting folks to visit our region. But one of the cool things they do for us locals to enjoy is their D Discount Pass. It saves 20% or more at a bunch of area attractions.

This year, there are five new additions to their program to go along with the Arab American National Museum, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, Edsel & Eleanor Ford House, Ford Piquette Avenue Plant, The Henry Ford, Michigan Science Center, Motown Museum and Sea Life Michigan Aquarium.

This year, they’ve added a buy one get one free deal at Comedy Sportz, 20% off the Princess Riverboat, $2 off admission to the Holocaust Memorial Center, $5 off an adult tour at Meadow Brook Hall, and buy one get one free admission at the Outdoor Adventure Center.

If you’re someone who likes to be a tourist in your own community, well, this is for you. All you need is an email address, or a mobile phone if you’d like your pass sent to you that way.

Even cooler, the pass is valid for one person per visit but it can be used multiple times through the end of 2016. To get yours, head on over to the Visit Detroit website.
