If a soul-searching journey through India is on your bucket list but out of your budget, then check out India Day 2015, presented by India League of America.

On August 15th from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., make the short cruise out to the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi and ignite your senses with the tastes, sounds, and sights of India.

This event is packed with all of the beauty of traditional Indian culture. You’ll enjoy food vendors, classically trained Bollywood dancers, clothing and jewelry vendors and more.

This free event expects to draw 25,000 people, making it a wonderful chance to explore the rich culture of this fascinating country in a fun and family-friendly environment. Here are four of the highlights:

  • Music and Dance: More than 400 kids & adults performing wide range of live dances including Bhangra, Film Dance & Classical
  • Food: A wide range of authentic (and spicy) Indian food
  • Exhibits: 100-plus exhibits selling and showcasing Indian jewelry, arts & crafts, cultural items, including boutiques & garments
  • Parade: Multiple organizations representing their states back in India will march in unity while showcasing their ethnic costumes and band
