This video is like someone stuck hoses through the wall of your basement and turned them on. Just imagine if this were your house.
Metro Detroit has been underwater in places all day today, snarling traffic, clogging freeways, and otherwise making people take hours to get to work when it normally would be minutes.
Our aging infrastructure just isn’t able to keep up, and there’s definitely flooding in some Detroit basements.
Reader Tim Quinn (@TemKwin on Instagram if you want to give him a follow) sent us this crazy video of water literally pouring through his walls in the midtown neighborhood. Fortunately for him, there wasn’t too much stored in their basement so the personal property damage is limited, but it’s a crazy thing to watch the wall simply not holding back the water.
