Mirror, mirror on the wall… which state is the best for photographing fall colors of them all?

Nikon, as part of their annual “Top Spot for Fall Foliage” campaign and contest, named Michigan as that state. It’s the third consecutive victory for the mitten state, although this year it was a close one.

New York came in second, and Colorado third.

The company received thousands of submissions from across the country on their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages with hashtags appropriate for each state. In our case, it was #NikonFallMI.

Here are few of the best of the best from Michigan. And yes, I’m partial to any picture that has a dog in it. That’s why I picked that one for the top.

If the shots below aren’t enough for you, you can view more of the submissions on the Nikon Facebook page.
