The Panel: Downtown Boxing Gym On Community Impact

Khali Sweeney and the staff of the Downtown Boxing Gym will be speaking about their work and how it impacts the community. Sweeney is currently in the running for CNN’s Hero of the Year. You can vote for Sweeney up to 30 times a day.

The panel will consist of four 15 minute discussions.

2017 SWOT City Open Office Hours: Mack Avenue

Are you an entrepreneur with an idea for a business or already have a brick and mortar business in Detroit? If you are need of some advice from an expert on an idea then you should sign up for SWOT City Open Office Hours to get your questions answered.

SWOT City is a support program for independent brick and mortar small businesses in Detroit neighborhoods.

Small Business Detroit Loan Orientation

CEED Lending which is an initiative of the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council will be holding an orientation for small business loans.

The loans range from $5,000 to $50,000 and may be used fro equipment, inventory acquisition, job creation, supplies, operating costs and working capital.

Interested parties must attend the weekly loan orientation in order to receive an application for a loan. You must register in advance for the orientation.

When: Tuesday, November 28 from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Start Up Boost Detroit Global Pre-Accelerator Demo Day

Bamboo Detroit will be hosting the Start Up Boost Detroit Global Pre-Accelerator Demo Day on Tuesday, November 28.

Come check out the eight tech start ups that have been polishing their pitches for the past six weeks.

There will be food, drinks and a chance to network with special guest speakers.

Be Heard: Public Speaking Workshop

Sometimes we come across a really cool event that is a few weeks out that we really want to tell you about. This is one of those events.

Eric Thomas who’s one of the more brilliant and authentic storytellers around town will be hosting a public speaking workshop on December 9.

The workshop will give people the tips and tricks to become a stronger public speaker.

The three hour workshop will walk you through structuring your story, vocal presentation, identity, and how to design your visual presentation.

Tickets for the workshop range from $100 to $150.

Detroit Regional Chamber’s Networking Reception 

Are you a member of the Detroit Regional Chamber? If you are then you probably already know about the Networking Reception that will be happening on Monday, November 27 at Little Caesar’s Arena.
