New Center will be getting a new home furnishings, interior design and gift boutique in the Spring of 2018.

Detroit resident Brigid Beaubien announced that her store Urbānum  will open an 1,800 square foot showroom. The new store will be located at 6545 Woodward Avenue.

The show will take over the space that was previously Hi-Fashion Ladies Wear.

Shoppers will find exclusive lighting brands, custom furniture, textiles, and vintage items at Urbānum. The boutique will also feature host and hostess gifts.

“I very much want the Urbānum experience to exude an authentic warmth, graciousness, and hospitality, providing our clients with the ability to express this in their own homes, in their own way,” said Beaubien.

If Beaubien’s name sounds familiar, it is because her and her husband Tim Costello own 8 Degrees Plato and 8 Degrees Plato-Detroit.

The new show will also provide opportunities for students at the College for Creative Studies by hosting original exhibits and offering employment opportunities.
