Welcome to our newest round up of events around Metro Detroit. This new round up will focus on networking events that happen around the region.

Our goal for this new weekly segment is to get you out to meet new people who might work in your field. Or maybe there will be a cool networking event that sounds interesting to you and you’ll check it out.

Much like our other lists like our City 5 we are always looking for great events. So if you know of one don’t be shy and drop us a line. Let’s get into the networking events for this week.

Pitch Club Detroit

If you are an entrepreneur you should consider heading to Tech Town this Wednesday, October 18 for Pitch Club Detroit.

Kyyba Xcelerator is organizing this event, which is described as aa mentoring and funding program. It that takes place across the state of Michigan.

Three entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to practice their pitch and discuss their business plan with funding experts.

Following the business pitches and a keynote address there will be a chance to network with other event goers.

WWJ Newsradio 950’s Leaders & Innovators Series: Women in Leadership

Ladies, if you are in a leadership role then you should register for this early morning event at Lawrence Technological University.

The program will have a panel discussion about the triumph, challenges and pitfalls that women experience during their careers. The panel will also look at how you can better support young women who are just starting in their careers.

The event is free, but be sure to register in advance since breakfast will be served.

Women in Digital October Meet Up

Women in Digital will be holding a Detroit meet up at Bamboo Detroit this Thursday, October 19.

The event is for women who work in digital, marketing, advertising or communication.

This month the special guest will be Bamboo Detroit’s CEO and Co-Founder Amanda Lewan.

Just a note, this event is for women or for those who identify as women.

IT in the D October 2017 Casual Networking Social 

If you are an IT professional then you need to put this event in your calendar. The IT in the D October networking event will be this Thursday, October 19 at the Blackfin Ameripub in Royal Oak.

As the name suggests this is a pretty laid back event. Just come out, grab a beer and talk to other technology-related folks and code monkeys.

Tech Jobs Tour Detroit 

The Tech Jobs Tour is visiting 50 cities across the United States in the course of a year. This Thursday night the tour will be stopping in Tech Town. This diverse event will include product demos, speed mentoring, career development, recruiting, and finally an opportunity to network.

If you are looking for a new job in the tech industry you can also submit your resume in advance because there will be recruiters from numerous companies in attendance.
