The upscale clothing retailer Madewell has opened up a new store in the newly redeveloped Shinola Block in downtown Detroit. That’s on Woodward in a row of historic buildings where the new Shinola Hotel is going in.

What’s neat about this location is that they sell some goods from Detroit-area artisans, including Tait Design, Worthwhile Paper, and Salt Textile Studio.

Local artist Ellen Rutt created the window designs.

In addition to the clothing Madewell also carries shoes, leather bags, and accessories.

Madewell is a chain known, in part, for their “denim bar” of blue jeans. This is the 124th store for the New York based retailer.
