Do you have plans for Friday night yet? Sure it is only Tuesday, but we were reminded about a really fun event that is being put on by the Detroit Riverfront Conservatory and Riviére 28. This year the Light Up the Riverfront will be at Gabriel Richard Park from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM.

Light Up the Riverfront is an annual BBQ and get together thrown by Rivière28, the Detroit Riverfront Conservatory’s active professionals auxiliary. The evening will be laid back, and it’s a great way to meet other people who love the riverfront.

Smokey G’s Smokehouse will be serving up traditional and vegetarian BBQ, and the US Bartenders Guild-Detroit Chapter will be mixing up mocktails.

This is a BYOB party, so bring your favorite beers or mixers to transform you mocktail into a cocktail.

Guest of the even can sit around bonfires and eat s’mores while listening to DJ Emmett. There will be lawn games you can play as well.

This sounds like a really fun laid back party on the beautiful Detroit river.

Tickets are $25 per person, and can be purchased here. All proceeds go to supporting the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy.

Gabriel Richard Park is located along Jefferson, and is east of the Belle Isle Bridge.

Onsite parking will be available, and if you decide to bike, Wheelhouse Detroit will be offering a bike valet.
