Are you looking for something fun to do on Thursday night? Do you like listening to people tell their true stories? Do you like listening to podcasts?

If the answer to all of those questions is yes, then you need to hurry up and get your tickets for Risk! at the Magic Bag in Ferndale.

If you’ve never heard of Risk! before, that’s ok – I can fill you in. Risk! was started in August of 2009 by Kevin Allison and Michelle Walson as a live storytelling show. In October of 2009 it also became a podcast.

The RISK! tagline is; “where people tell true stories they never thought they’d dare to share in public”.

Anything goes during the live shows and podcasts. No topic is taboo for Risk! This means that you you might hear a story about sex, drugs, crimes, depression, or something really hilarious like calling Wendy’s every night asking about Hambu. (The Hambu story starts at the 35 minute mark. Just a heads up there is some cursing during the story.)

The live show on Thursday will have four storytellers and the theme is “Funky”.

This is the second time that Risk! has had a live show at The Magic Bag in Ferndale. We were at the show last April and it was great.

“Kevin Allison is like your favorite drunken uncle who coaxes that funny, yet really embarrassing story out of you during the holiday dinner,” said Magic Bag spokesman Willie Wilson. “Only with RISK!, it isn’t a holiday dinner, it’s you in front of an audience.”

Tickets for the show are $15 per person. The show is 18 and over due to the content of some of the stories.

Doors open at 8:00 p.m and the show begins at 9:00 p.m.

The Magic Bag is located at 22920 Woodward Avenue Ferndale, Michigan 48220
