Here’s a blast from Michigan’s past. Above you’ll find a documentary, “Boblo Memories,” (about 25 minutes long) narrated by none other than former WDIV anchor Mort Crim on Boblo Island.

Closing down in 1993, many of our younger readers may not have had the chance to go to what many describe as one of the magical places near Detroit. It was, in a way, Michigan’s own version of New York City’s “Coney Island.”

If you’re a fan of old footage and photos, this video is for you.

There are efforts underway to restore one of the Boblo boats, S.S, Columbia, but sadly, for service in New York.
