Detroit’s bus service is a hot mess right now. From not enough drivers, to late performance, to contract negotiations that seem to be in the he said / she said stage…. plus, there’s expansion plans on the horizon that sound good, but it’s not clear how they’re going to get paid for.

There’s a lot to unpack. and there’s so many Detroiters reliant on this transit system.

To me, it’s a core local service that should just work. It matters, as in the Motor City a large percentage of residents don’t have access to a vehicle.

So to help me do this, Aaron Mondry from Outlier Media joins me on the show. It’s an interesting conversation.

His report, “Detroit is ‘reimagining’ the future of transportation without fixing current problems” is worth talking about and that’s what we’re going to do today.
