Mayor Mike Duggan was fired up during his keynote address at the Mackinac Policy Conference. He’s not be a man of the cloth, but he brought the house down by sharing his vision of the City of Detroit, ending with a standing ovation.

His main concern was for the rebirth of Detroit and to make sure that the recovery provides opportunity to everyone.

Duggan broke down his vision into seven categories. They are removing blight, recognizing Detroit’s uniqueness and finding it’s advantages, attracting new businesses and creating jobs for people of all skill levels, encouraging entrepreneurship, creating housing for all people in the city, providing opportunities for youth, and finally we need to have a first class school system.
