Not always does the comic book world meet the sporting world. But when it does? It can be awesome.

For all you nerds (like many of us here at Daily Detroit) out there, the Michigan State Spartan Marching band played the scores for James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, as composed by Tyler Bates for 2014’s film, and the Spider-Man theme song. The performance at the Big House in Ann Arbor concluded with the a outstanding performance of Alan Sylvestri’s Avengers theme song.

As a bonus? They sprinkled in a Motown classic: “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
