Here we are again, do you hear the weekend calling you? Because I can hear it calling me.

For the first time in forever I have a pretty flexible schedule this weekend. I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself. Maybe I’ll take the kiddo to Michigan Science Center on Sunday. If you see me there be sure to say hi.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Angels In America

The Park Players will be performing part one of Tony Kushner’s Angels In America: Part One: Millennium Approaches at the Redford Theatre.

The play is set in the 1980’s during the AIDS epidemic and follows the lives of two couples.

Tickets range between $15 and $20 and you can buy tickets for the show here.

Just a note, the play deals with a lot of adult themes so it is probably best to leave young children at home.

Friday and Saturday performances are at 8:00 p.m. The Sunday performance is at 2:00 p.m.

The Redford Theatre is located at 17360 Lahser Road Detroit, Michigan 48219

Author Joe Grimm at Pages Bookshop

If you are a fan of Detroit’s favorite pop brand, Faygo have I got an event for you.

On Friday night Joe Grimm will be doing a discussion about his latest book, The Faygo Book at Pages Bookshop. He will be joined by our favorite Detroit author and historian Karen Dybis.

The event is free to attend and Pages will have plenty of copies of The Faygo Book and Karen’s book The Better Made in Michigan to have signed.

The holidays are right around the corner, and these books would make great gifts. Throw in a six pack of Faygo and a bag of Better Made chips. Maybe add in a Faygo candle from Motor City Creations and you’ve got yourself an awesome gift.

When: Friday, November 9 from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Pages Bookshop is located at 19560 Grand River Avenue Detroit, Michigan 48223
