During the holidays often the first thing that parents think about is where to see Santa Claus. In fact, I still haven’t figured out where to take my two year old.
However, for parents with a child on the autism spectrum the decision is tougher. Malls can be crowded and overwhelming, and depending on their child’s needs it could be hard to find a quiet place to meet the big guy.
This is where White Castle has stepped in.
Families who have children on the spectrum will have an opportunity to see Caring Santa at White Castle this Sunday. Caring Santa is a sensory friendly Santa.
“Our Caring Santa and his helpers have been trained by Autism Speaks and have experience working with children with autism,” said Jamie Richardson, vice president of White Castle. “We’re thrilled to be able to bring this event to children and families in the Detroit area.”
Families are also encouraged to bring cameras to take pictures of their children with Santa.
White Castle will also be offering up to four My Size Meals with an adult purchase.
Caring Santa will be at the Shelby Township White Castle on Sunday, December 11 from 11:00 a.m- 2:00 p.m.
The address for the Shelby Township White Castle is 12245 23 Mile Road, Shelby Township, Michigan 48315
