Three Month Long I-696 Tunnel Light Replacement Project Starts Monday

Show notes

Construction, the never ending season in Michigan.

Per the Michigan Department of Transportation, beginning Monday, October 31, work begins on three I-696 tunnels between Coolidge and Southfield Roads in Oakland County to replace the tunnel lights.

Crews will be closing two lanes nightly from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am, alternating between eastbound and westbound I-696, with the plan being to always leave two lanes open.

The three month project will start on westbound I-696 at Coolidge Highway with two lanes closed.
