Good Good Friday and hello all. If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend in Detroit, look no further. Let’s just dive in.

Flint Eastwood Record Release Party – The Fisher Building

It’s an iconic space that’s going to have one heck of a party thrown in it on Friday night. Local artist gone big Flint Eastwood (we interviewed her here) has a record release party for her new EP, “Broke Royalty” in the lobby of Fisher Building. As of this writing, there’s still a few tickets left here.

The Fisher Building is at 3011 W Grand Boulevard in Detroit.

Drew Philp Book Party

Remember the guy who had that viral Buzzfeed piece about a $500 house in Detroit? Well, he has a new book out and it’s already an Amazon best seller. There’s a book party at Trinosophes (1464 Gratiot Avenue in Detroit) over by Eastern Market on Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be a reading. Oh, and if you want to get to know a little more about him, Sven interviewed him for our Happy Hour podcast here.

Meet A Real Rocket Scientist At The Michigan Science Center

Have you ever said, “I’m no rocket scientist?” Well, frankly, I’ve never met a real one. And a real one, Amber Gell, will be at the Michigan Science Center in Midtown on Saturday from 1 p.m- 4 p.m. Admission to the museum will cover this special event. More here.

The Michigan Science Center is at 5020 John R Street in Detroit.

Greenfield Village Opening Day

This one isn’t in the city proper but there’s so much history at Greenfield Village we wanted to include it. If you haven’t been, it’s one of the most special places in Metro Detroit. Saturday is opening day and they’re going to celebrate Easter traditions like it’s 1885 at the Firestone Farm. Here’s the Facebook event with more details. Open from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Greenfield Village is at 20900 Oakwood Boulevard in Dearborn.

Honkey-tonk and Rock’n Roll In Hamtramck

Hi-Views, Whiskey Daredevils, Cind-Lou, and Devil Elvis Show will be at the New Dodge Lounge at 8850 Joseph Campau Street in Hamtramck. Promises to be a fun time if you’re looking for something Honky-tonk and Rock and Roll. Yes, it’s going to be loud. 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Extra Pro Tip: If you’re going to be over by the Dequindre Cut on Saturday, you can get a great caffeine fix (hot or iced, along with specialty drinks and some snacks) with Drifter Coffee. They’re being kind to those who walk, bike or scoot over as opposed to driving with 50 cents off any drink for your earth friendliness.
